I am more annoyed than pissed. For me, it was dumb luck that the fans that came with the renovated house I purchased happen to be covered by Litex Industries' warranty.

The two ceiling fans, which are rarely used throughout the year, lasted less than 6 years. The lights are used more than the fan. Both had to be sent to Litex Industries for replacement. One fan continues to work (crossing fingers).

The other one has been a headache--2 new light kits and a new wattage/voltage regulator. Litex solutions to all of this--send it in at your cost to be fixed or replaced. Cost-benefit analysis: shipping cost, time to ship, months of lost opportunity cost of not having a celing fan and light = buy a H****r brand fan. After speaking with friends, I am only buying H****r fans for this point onward.

The fans actually work consistently and for at least 15 years. You truly pay for what you get. If you have time to devote to this warranty waiting game, enjoy! As for me, I have better things to do with my time.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I am buying a H****r brand ceiling fan.

I have two Litex fans and one will only work on low speed. I replaced the remote control in the fan and still the same.

Is it something I can replace or do I need to send the unit back

That's odd. are you sure the motor was dead?

even though these are mid level quality fans, their motors rarely die. I think what yours had was a defective capacitor something that's very popular on ceiling fans when stop working. Like it or not EVERY single manufacturer or importer/distributor requires the owner to remove and beard all the cost of removing shipping prepaid any fan motor that is deemed defective., there's no way to avoid that **IF** you want your fan repaired.

The responsibility of the manufacturer/distributor is to perfom any repair associated with what's covered under the factory warranty and ship it back to you prepaid. if they think a repair will no possible, they will ship you a new motor which will be covered under the original motor warranty.
